June is sure bustin’ out

June is sure bustin’ out all over! I can’t believe it is June already. It seems like last week when everyone was panicking about the 2000 rollover. June should be a nice and easy month especially since school is out, right? W-R-O-N-G!!!

Yes, this is the month for my wedding anniversary, but it is being hampered by my family’s overwhelming schedule. This week my sister gets LASIK (I did this in April 1999 and my eyes are great!), she is also moving so I have to sacrifice the husband to help (which happens to be my wedding anniversary weekend) - they have been helpful to us in a lot of ways and we owe them, S is still playing t-ball and has begun indoor soccer practice with most of the girls from her Blues Sisters outdoor soccer team…

I have two weeks left of CCCCD’s CGI programming class as I embark on another NYU class in Web Server Development as well as be a TA for the Multimedia class. This is my third class towards completing my certification in Internet Technology. I really enjoy these online computer classes. It has really worked well for me because of my hearing impairment. No worries about lipreading professors that I cannot understand nor trying to take notes without missing what the professor said. Then at the end of the month, I am taking a two day Flash class in Richland College. When I originally signed up for class, June was not looking too bad and they fill up quickly.

The hubby has MS 2000 class in the evenings on a few Saturdays. Plus, his dad has to have another surgery (third one) associated with his heart and veins (he has thinning arteries - to keep a long story short). So, Paul will have to go to Houston, but we’re not sure when. His dad went into the hospital today and will spend most of the week being evaluated. Appreciate any prayers. There are more things, but I am not going to bore you and list them all. I just hate being overly busy like this and not all of it is our choice.

The weekend was pretty relaxing. We went to S’s t-ball game and L made it impossible for me to watch her play. He kept wanting to walk down the field to the busy street then he whined for a lot of it. It turns out he was pretty tired because he took over a three hour nap, something he rarely does. Paul and I did manage to rent a couple of movies. The first was Being John Malkovich. It gets “you’ve got to rent it” rating from me. Occasionally, when I get philosophical and ponder life, I had thought about what if we are part of someone’s world? What if we were just little people being watched or part of another being? Well, after watching this movie, I learned I was not the only one who wondered and I don’t get philosophical often.

The second was American Beauty. I really don’t have to give my opinion on this one since just about everyone has seen it. It was a good movie, but I don’t see what is the “BIG DEAL” about it? Just like Pulp Fiction… but I HATED that movie.

Watched the Tony Awards last night. It was good having Rosie back as the hostess, but they just don’t make the Tony Awards like they used to back when Angela Lansbury hosted. It was good to see Brian Stokes Mitchell win best actor for Kiss Me, Kate. He was terrific in Ragtime as Coalhouse Walker. Another deserving winner was Karen Ziemba whom has had a long, distinguished Broadway career. The Tony Awards have become “just another awards show.” In the past, they were more than that… they were entertaining. Writing letters didn’t help. I guess I should be thankful it is televised at all considering Broadway stuff just don’t get enough ratings.
