S and I survived Six Flags ((the corporation site). OK, granted, surviving Six Flags (this is the place to go if you have memories of Six Flags past such as Spelunker’s Cave!) in 102 degree weather ain’t nothing compared to surviving Survivor (no, I don’t think it sucks. This is the place to go, though.). We went armed with our portable water mister, three bottles of water that were frozen beforehand, and plenty of cash. S rode on the log ride, Mine Train (I’m too old for roller coasters as I discovered on this ride where I got lightheaded), Mini-Mine Train, Yosemite Sam’s Cave (still prefer the old Spelunkers), and more. We believe because of my hearing loss that I’ve got an inner ear problem that has worsened over the years causing me to get lightheaded or blackout on roller coasters and rides like Dino Island.
We even got transported back to medieval times and got our picture taken. Then, we finished off our day at the Batman Stunt Show which I thought was awful. Batman didn’t show up until the end and S kept asking me if this was the Batman show. The first half was just a circus show in which the Joker made a very brief appearance.
I’ve been doing some freelance work for a company in New York University that is run by one of my former professors at NYU. I really enjoy this work and hope to do more in the near future especially since we recently signed an agreement to establish a formal relationship. For the first time, I am getting paid for having fun! Right now, I am keeping freelance work low-key while I get through more classes. I’m halfway through the Web Server class and about a fourth of the way through a Java class. I hope to pick up the work at the end of the year after I’ve earned my Internet Technology certification from NYU.
