Donated blood today. When was the last time you did it? If you qualify, go donate today. Takes less than an hour and helps three people.

Just finished On Writing Well. When I first flipped through the book at the store, I thought… “No way I can learn anything from a narrative-style book.” Plus, when do I have time to read such a book? It came highly recommended and I got it on sale. What the hey? I love books and I’m a sucker for ‘em.

Turns out it’s one of my smarter book purchases. Zinsser even wrote a travel article that fascinated me! If I came close to being the writer he is, I would be the happiest I could ever be (outside the major family events, of course). I tried to write to him and let him know (although he’s probably heard it all from readers like me), but the emails bounced back. Whatever your email or mailing address is… thank you, Mr. Zinsser.
