Lucky me. Fell victim to

Lucky me. Fell victim to SirCam worm. Believe it or not, I questionned opening an attachment from an unrecognized sender. Talked to the family , etc. Opened it… it was a class assignment (I do teach a class). Nothing weird happened… a few slowdowns, but nothing serious. Loaded computer this morning and it still ran fine… then went into Outlook (I NEVER use email… and I had a ton of email in Outlook – we use @home on it, but never use it). I use Outlook for PDA syncing with address book and calendar.

Bam, I realized I had been virusized. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Even after emptying the dagnabbed recycle bin, it didn’t go away. I followed Norton’s instructions… didn’t work. Hubby saved the day. One of the files for regedit was in a different location than that listed in Norton’s help file. I just didn’t want to screw with the computer anymore after my stupid move.

Everything is OK now. I’m just mad at myself because I’m good about suspicious attachments. Don’t know why I did it. Usually, Norton’s checks the attachments.

‘Nuff said. Did watch a good movie yesterday, Meet the Parents. It was good to laugh. Also watched You Can Count on Me. It got good ratings, but it just didn’t go anywhere for me. Strangely… Matthew Broderick was not a lead player in the movie. Acting was superb. The story fizzled.
