meryl.net proudly sponsors this note. What next? Advertising on people’s foreheads? Selling your child’s name as a brand? Oh yeah, that’s been tried and no one bid (Jay G is the dad). Salon brings us Your ad here. which talks about advertising in books. Now, I know that is nothing new because we see them at the end of the book via a chapter sampling of a new book, an order form for other books by the same publisher and/or author, and quotes from book reviews (usually on the jacket). In this case, the ad is in the middle of the book! That’s just too disruptive especially when the book is part of a collection. Just leave it in the back, please.
Three cheers for Shirley! She is a Blog of Note for 2.9.01.
