David Walker writes on the Attack of the killer conventions and makes valid points for “Web conventions”. [Link eleganthack]

First thing: Know your audience. Places like Born Magazine and Josh Davis’s Praystation avoid convention, but it’s appropriate for their sites.

E-commerce sites, on the other hand, need to have conventional features to help shoppers find what they need. It’s hard enough browsing a e-store, they don’t need the challenge of finding their way around or the shopping cart.
