Say what you will about Macromedia’s products especially it’s “evil flash” according to some of you, but they’ve earned my respect and I’m trying to pursue them for a case study. If you have an in, please contact me. I went to the Tip of the Week site, which has a CSS in Dreamweaver tip. To my surprise, they have a captions option! If you select it, they provide text for the audio portion.

Macromedia has done a thorough job of pleasing its audience of people with accessible needs as well as people who don’t speak English as a first or any language.

I love Macromedia. Dreamweaver Studio is a web developer’s best friend. Fireworks turns my photographs into very small gifs just by exporting; Photoshop makes ‘em bigger to start with. You have to work hard to lighten the load there.

And Dreamweaver is your pal. Javascript pop-up window? Just click on the plus and you’ve got one. Don’t have a great scripting ability? That’s okay, Macromedia invites scripters to supply extensions for everyone, and they’re free.

Can’t beat their user interface, or their ability to listen to the customers and change the code accordingly.

    I’m sold. :-)
