CNet has posted review of Netscape 7 Preview Release 1. I’m already not happy with it just from looking at the screen shot. Whenever I use Netscape 6, I “feel it” unlike when I am using IE 6. There is just something unaesthetic about it that I didn’t experience with Netscape 4.x. I even tried using different skins, but nothing helped. Plus, NN 6 default settings displays smaller text than IE 6 (without making adjustments).
Another tsk tsk is that NN 7 won’t work with Mozilla loaded on the same computer.
According to the review, “Netscape 7 will be the best non-Microsoft browser around–and may be the best browser, period.” Dems fightin’ words. I’ll wait until it’s released and then give it a looky-loo. [Link Kristine]

I’ll just stick to Mozilla thank you
Mozilla and Netscape 7 can be used on the same machine, but you must, MUST, MUST use different profiles. If you try to use the same profile it will stuff up badly, but I’ve just checked and it works with separate profiles.
Maybe it’s worse on Windows, but it’s fine on my Mac.
I am using both NS 7 PR and Mozilla just fine with W 2000. But I just have one default profile.
Greeeeaaaat…yet another new set of browser quirks to bang my head on the keyboard about.
Yeah, but Robyn, maybe when people see that 7 is out, they’ll stop using 4!!
I think I’ll always be a IE girl. But the sucky thing about being a designer is I feel this huge urge to check everything in every other browser, no matter how much it makes me cry :sobsobOpera6sobsob:!!!
I got to sit next to Leo yesterday while he downloaded it on his mac and I saw a little bit of it. I don’t dig netscape but I love when people upgrade their software
