Meryl’s Notes Turns Two

June 1, 2000.

I took the plunge.

I went into Blogger and signed up.

Unable to think of a creative name as explained in the About, I entered, “meryl’s notes” for the name thinking I’d change it later.

I never did.

My first non-thought provoking entry (scroll to bottom).

Yes, there have been days when I just wanted to throw in the towel and quit blogging. But I couldn’t. Two years later, I continue to writing notes. Here’s to another two years, or 14 years in dog years as Zeldman correctly measures.

I’ll twy not to behave like a typical tewwible two year old. :)

Other facts, if you care: meryl.net will be 3 in October. /~meryl Web site has been up since 1993-1994. Specific month unknown and forgotten. When I moved back to Texas in 1995, I already had a Web site with dgs.dgsys.com (Washington, DC area) and transitioned it to onramp.net. I have proof was I up in 1997. Dgsys.com doesn’t have anything older than 1999 from what I can tell. Previous URLs:

http://dgs.dgsys.com/~mevans http://rampages.onramp.net/~meryl

Ah ha, here’s proof that my dgs account existed. :)

I dug through the archives and found old .html files. One is the front page of Virtually Texas, my first Web site. These are the three old pages from said site. Yes, it was full of links and no content by a misplaced Texan. When I moved back to Texas, I changed the site to take the focus off of Texas.

I wrote a couple of online articles for Bird of Prey, a site maintained by American University students and alum. Expect broken URL and graphic links.

More than you wanted to know, eh?
