Monday, August 5th, 2002 at 10:03 AM |<soap box>I gotta complain. Is it cheaper to move those slots on the top of cereal boxes closer to the edge or something? More of more of the boxes have moved the slot near the edge and I’m always breaking them even when being careful. Bring the slot back to the center!</soap box>
<feedback>Rick provided the answer and it’s logical, but I still don’t like it. “My guess as to why the slot on cereal boxes is close to the edge: More visible printing space. The bottom flap gets the glue, so can’t be seen easily, while the top flap is unglued, and can be printed. The larger the top flap, the greater real estate for fine print, etc. on top.”</feedback>
