Browser Flaws

Mozilla users need to be aware of a flaw as explained in Mozilla Flaw Springs Privacy Leak. The recommendation is to disable JavaScript and to create a file called user.js with the following line:

user_pref(”capability.policy.default.Window.onunload”, “noAccess”);

Save it to the same location as pref.js, which is in the user profile. If you need more specifics, let me know and I’ll step you through it. [Link Webreference]

Also, IE running on Windows XP (any version) has a very dangerous security flaw and people recommend downloading the Service Pack 1. However, if you’re not confident with downloading it yet nor have the speed to download a 133 meg file, the solution is to search the C drive for uplddrvinfo.htm and rename the file to uplddrvinfo.htm.old or something like that. More details on this security leak that was kept secret for 11 weeks to avoid giving hackers any insight. [Link The Screen Savers]
