AOL Does CSS

Whoa! I’ll leave my opinions of AOL out of this as it would not be appropriate, but they’ve earned a little respect from me because they redesigned their site to use CSS and no tables! How about that?

OK, now for the bad news. The site doesn’t validate, the text is small and in images, those who have JavaScript turned off won’t be able to view some of its contents, and it uses browser sniffers to look for almost-extinct browsers and redirects them.

On the bright side, AOL is a biggie and its using CSS for positioning proves that CSS ain’t just for independents and Web designers anymore. Hey, just learned Sprint has gone CSS. AOL news via DMXzone and Sprint news from Mezzoblue.

Need to add these sites to the CSS list. Dang, I’ve got to find an easier way to maintain it.
