Web sites should give the user as much control as possible and that includes font settings. The Code Style font sampler has a survey for Windows, Macs, and Unix computers to determine whether or not the user has each font loaded. It provides text and image for comparison. The survey results lists the more common fonts by platform and one result for all platforms.
The information gleaned will help designers when selecting font types knowing the probability a user will have specific
