powerpro is windows customization on steroids, yet it's extremely lightweight on your system, and equally suitable from the humble win98/pentium class pc to the current winxp/4GHz monsters. be prepared for a steep learning curve, though, and for a very supportive user community on yahoo groups. take your time while learning, powerpro is here to stay.

Hi David and others ;)

If there's a single program I couldn't ever live without, that's PowerPro. I'm desparately missing it under Linux :( It's hard to describe PP, but a really grown-up Swiss-army knife comes to mind and it's the best kept secret in the "DIY-Utilities" world. Once you get used to, you'll see, most of the time, PP doesn't get into your way, but your imagination does :) See some screenshots, see some scripts, and you'll get rid of tens or maybe hundreds of tiny little programs! Just try it and have some patience, it's definitely rewarded.

The yahoogroups at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/powerpro-beginners
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/power-pro

are indispensable when starting with powerpro. Because powerpro is such a huge program, having users there that you can ask questions to when something just isn't making sense is critical.

Also, I maintain a more up to date resource page for powerpro at:
http://powerpro.pcrei.com

which includes extra documentation, other files...and will include some flash demos in the (hopefully) near future. (demo's currently available at: ftp://powerpro.dyndns.org/uploads/winks/

Enjoy!

PowerPro: Free

PowerPro v3.8 for Win 95/98/NT/2000/XP is a free command launcher that runs commands, programs, and system configuration all from a button bar. This is a tough program to describe because it can be customized many ways to suit your needs....
