Dance Dance Revolution

My daughter is into Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) and I’d love to use it, but never get to an arcade and pay megabucks to try it out. We have a Nintendo Gamecube, the one console that doesn’t have DDR. Playstation 2 and Xbox have the CDs and pads. Which one would be a better choice? Recommendations anyone?

Update: I found one for the Nintendo Gamecube, but the quality is not as good. Konami makes one for the PC, but no beatpad—all in the fingers.

I’ve learned PS2 has more DDR stuff available, but PS2 also has mostly RPG games. At this time, my family is not into such games. The Xbox has more games that would fit us. There are also rumors Xbox 2 is coming. Thoughts?

LevelSix.net sells these convertors that allow you to use a PlayStation controller or dance mat as a standard DirectX joystick. I’ve used them to play DDR on the PC.

Er. And by levelsix.net, I meant levelsix.com. At least I got the URL right in the link. :)

Yeah, I know this is old, but you can now get a mario version of ddr with the gamecube.
