&lt;p&gt;I have done split tests with my own newsletter comparing title only with link and title plus summary with link.  Title only increases open rate by 7.2% and click-thru rate by a whopping 37%!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I would never recommend anything to anyone else based on these results.  But, I wouldn't accept anyone elses advice without testing in my own situation either.&lt;/p&gt;
