Fantastico is not a host. It's a feature that many hosts provide through cpanel. It looks like NetworkSolutions has a similar feature. See:
http://www.networksolutions.com/web-hosting/blogging.jsp

Your domain name is always yours. Services like NS and GoDaddy offer multiple solutions and you can drop one without losing the other. If you move to another web host, you will change the nameservers on NS. Your new host will give you the nameserver info to enter into NS.

(Tried to keep it simple.)

Thanks Meryl. This is probably a basic question but would Fantastico take the place of Network Solutions? If so what would happened to my domain name which I get from NS? As you can tell I am not well versed in all this technical stuff.

Mine are hosted as part of my membership at wealthy affiliate university. I mean this wouldn't be fo everyone but if you're after making money from your blog then you wouldn't go far wrong with this hosting. The only thing some people my find problems with is pointing the nameservers to wealthy affiliate hosting but there's step by step guides to help with that as well as support forums.

@Amy, there's a service called Fantastico that many web hosts provide. It is almost like installing wordpress in one-click. I use this on my nonprofit sites so when I hand over the reins, the new person doesn't have to worry about upgrades. Just go into Fantastico and upgrade there.

You're right that installing Wordpress with the so-called easy five-minute install... isn't so easy.

Who hosts your blogs? Network Solutions hosts my website and it was and still is a pain to do anything with wordpress and the website. I don't find wordpress to be easy, at all.

I use wordpress for my blogs and to be honest it couldn't be easier. My web host allows me to install wordpress in a few steps, its similar to setting up blogger and you just need to enter your site name, domain name and then choose a theme and that's basically it. Updating my blog can be done from inside my wordpress dashboard with just a click of a button. I really recommend wordpress because there is just so much you can do with it.

@Stacey, no. Wordpress, Joomla and MoveableType do both blog and web site. I am sure there are more -- these are just some on the top of my head.

Just wondering what everyone's experience is with weebly? My partner and I would like to start with a blog and eventually have a website with the blog on it but are not in a position to fork out money for someone to design everything for us. Is weebly the only company that allows you to design both a website and blog combined? Would we be able to do that with typepadhacks ? Help is much appreciated...

<p>So I finally paid someone to set up a wordpress blog on my website which is hosted by Network Solutions. My main requirement was that it look like the rest of my site. She got it about 85 percent of the way but in retrospect she was a poor designer. I find wordpress impossible to use so then I found someone who works with my husband who helped me get it to 100 percent. To use wordpress effectively you have to read through pages and pages and pages of forum and fag posts. It is too time consuming. Even after you do that you will have to make changes in either html or css. I feel this is beyond the average user. I had previously tried to set up a blog in blogger and it was much easier. I feel that my experience with wordpress shows that sometimes it is worth paying for something.</p>

<p>It has been amazing to grow any business on the Internet, I need to market strategically to my customers, using a range for tools from content sharing to email marketing, search engine optimization, co-branding, ad buys, and more, to reach your target audience.</p>
