I'm sure I don't stand alone when I say that 2008 was a very challenging year. I have some feelings of ambiguity about how I feel about 2008 since it definitely had its ups and downs but I am thankful for the opportunities that came my way in 2008.

Thank you, Karen! I'm thrilled we "met" and became friends. I know you'll love your job and do it well. I look forward to reading about how you love it and it makes your life better.

Sounds like a rollercoaster year for you! Here's to a much smoother 2009.

I'm starting a new job in a few days and hoping that I can juggle it all. I suspect I'll have some more gray hairs at the end of 2009.

Happy New Year! I'm thankful I "met" you online and hope to some day connect in person!

Northwestern lost!!?? Oh, no! I always root for them. My mom went there in her freshman year (long story why she didn't continue after that).

Brad, I think our 2008 sums up the year for many folks. A roller coaster ride. Let's hope things settle and the economy starts domino'ing the right way to at least ensure we have an uneventful year.

All things considered, 2008 was not a banner year. A close friend and a daughter moved farther away (good for them, sad for me), the economy threw me for a loop, my knee fell apart, and to top it off, my alma mater, Northwestern, lost a heartbreaker in the Alamo Bowl last night. Yet ... I have much to be thankful for! 2009 is shaping up as a better year, and I hope that goes for everyone.
