Heck, it's hard enough trying to be a single Dad without trying to write. My daughter is the most precious thing in my life. I can't/won't ignore her while I tap on the computer. (She's six) I get up at 5am every day so I can get in two hours of writing before I have to get her up and ready for school. Being a male, I will never experience, nor fully understand, the challenges associated with motherhood, especially (but not only) where:(a) where multiple children are involved; or (b) you hold down a full time job in addition to your parenting responsibilities.

But I could certainly imagine that being a full time parent would be pretty full-on, and that you would need a healthy break and a little time out to do something for yourself if you are to be effective as a parent.

That said, I certainly take my hat off to any mother who has the discipline to find the time to pursue writting in addition to the fullfillment of their other duties.
