Madhu writes an easy to understand article on useful “Page not found” error pages : evolt.org and takes us on a tour of good and bad examples. I agree with all of his points: don’t redirect to home page, customize, and friendly. Yeah, yeah… you know I’ll never get around to customizing my own. *sigh*
Gotta add this 404 to my collection of File Not Found list. No, nothing is wrong with your computer, but you knew that. Good one, Chris. Yeah, yeah, I need to create one. It’s number 56 on my list of procrastination. I’ve got no willpower when it comes to my fave TechTV Geek. Just gave in and bought the Gnomie Care Package.
From CNN, Webmasters get creative with ’404 Error’ pages. Been meaning to create my own for over two years. Man, that’s a long time to have an item on my to do list. Maybe when the site gets redesigned.
